Sorting foam from fiction: Three myths about solid soap

Sorting foam from fiction: Three myths about solid soap

What we’ve noticed after being in the soap biz for some time now, is that in some circles, solid soap has somewhat of a bad reputation. Undeserved.

Here are three of the most common myths we’ve heard, and why they are just that, myths.

Myth #1 – Solid Soap Is Unhygienic

The truth is this, germs can’t actually be transferred from the bar of soap to your body when you use it. The natural antibacterial benefits of our cubes keep bacteria to a minimum both on the surface of the bar and your skin itself.

Always rinse off your cube after use and store it someplace dry in between washes. The Sidekick is perfect for that, as it drains the water from under it.

Myth #2 – Solid Soap Dries Out Your Skin

Ever have someone say you shouldn't use soap to wash your face? In reality, it's not the soap itself that is bad for your skin, but the fact that many conventional soaps are packed with drying chemicals, surfactants, perfumes and preservatives.
An Aárd cube contains none of these. In fact, formulating the ingredients into a solid bar allows for a higher concentration of pure, good-for-you ingredients while leaving out common preservatives.

Myth #3 – Solid Soap Contains Lye Which is Bad For You

Lye is the ingredient that sparks the reaction to harden the oils into the final product. Without it, no solid soap. After the reaction, however, no lye is left in your cube. Win!
